the parable of the ten virgins
God really spoke to me through this passage today. i did this with my discipler who had just come back to visit after serving mid-way of her one year short term missions in mongolia.
in the parable, in more modern terms, there are the wise and the fool virgins. ten of them collect their lamps to bring to their possible bridesgroom and wait to be married to him....

it’s a bit irritating how when poor people are humble and kind, no one cares. but when good looking / rich people are humble and kind, everyone appreciates and flatters it. …
but wonderfully, Jesus appreciates the poor more… because even with nothing, those with great faith and a sacrificial, humble, giving heart glorifies God much more than a rich man who gives greatly...
